Little League Baseball

Plymouth-Canton Little League Baseball Divisions

Boys and girls play baseball together at PCLL. We do not have dedicated baseball teams of all girls or all boys. Because the number of registered boys typically outnumbers the number of registered girls, though, it is possible that there may be only one girl on a team, none, or several. T-ball and Machine Pitch players are welcome to make requests during registration to be placed with a certain coach or player. Requests are not available outside of T-Ball or Coach Pitch.

Please note that baseball has historically been a sport with many boys registered and relatively very few girls. PCLL offers fast-pitch softball which is traditionally a sport for girls. Boys and girls are welcome to register for the program that fits them best. CLICK HERE for more information about our fast-pitch softball program.

AGE DETERMINATION - BASEBALL

SPRING/SUMMER SEASON

5/6U T-Ball - BASEBALL and SOFTBALL

For Players 5-6 Years of Age

T–Ball focuses on the fundamentals of baseball while creating an environment for players to learn how to work together and play as a team. Players bat and play in the field each inning. Each team will play approximately 10 regular season games and consist of 10-12 players. T-Ball is a division offered to aspiring baseball and softball players combined.

A typical season consists of weekend games and one weekday practice.

7/8U Coach Pitch/Modified Kid Pitch - BASEBALL
For Players 7-8 Years of Age

New in spring 2023, the Coach Pitch/Modified Kid Pitch division provides players a transition between the educational focus of T-Ball and the more competitive next level, Minors, where players pitch. This division plays with modified t-ball rules to allow for continued skill development and a smooth transition to player pitch. Ten players are fielded each inning and a team is at bat for three outs or five runs. Each team will play approximately 12 regular season games and consist of 11-12 players.

A typical season consists of mostly weekend games and one weekday practice.

9/10U Minor Division - BASEBALL
For Players 9-10 Years of Age

The Minor division gives players the chance to continue their skill development further with players pitching. This division continues to focus on advanced techniques and skills while providing a competitive environment. Each game will be officiated by two umpires. Players in the Minor division will play approximately 12 regular season games and consist of 11-12 players.  Additional inter-league games or scrimmages will be scheduled when available.

A typical season consists of mostly weekday games (though there may be weekend games) and one weekday practice.

11/12U Major Division - BASEBALL
For Players 11-12 Years of Age

The Major division allows players to fine-tune their techniques and skills. The Major division is played under the same rules and guidelines as the Little League World Series that is televised each summer. Each game will be officiated by two umpires.  Teams play approximately 12 regular season games and consist of 11-12 players. Additional inter-league games or scrimmages will be scheduled when possible.

A typical season consists of mostly weekday games (though there may be weekend games) and one weekday practice.

13/14U Junior Division - BASEBALL
For Players 13-14 Years of Age

For the older, more experienced player, the Juniors compete in inter-division play with other local little leagues in our district and surrounding area. Teams consist of 12-15 players. Inter-league games or scrimmages are scheduled whenever possible.

15/16U Senior Division - BASEBALL
For Players 15-16 Years of Age

Should there be sufficient interest and a committed coach, PCLL will consider offering a Senior division. This group competes in inter-league play with other area Little Leagues.

FALL SEASON

PCLL launched its inaugural Fall Ball season in 2022. Divisions and gameplay are the same as they are for the spring/summer season, but the season only consists of seven to eight games (based on division).
