Plymouth-Canton Little League Softball Development Program

We are excited to announce Fall & Winter softball training clinics for girls ages 7 to 14. These sessions are designed to help young softball players develop and refine the foundational skills necessary to play the game of fast pitch softball.

While we welcome all players, those who are interested in recreational league-level play will get the most out of these clinics. Travel team players will probably find these clinics too fundamental.

Whether your player has never played fast pitch softball but is interested in learning or your player is looking to keep their skills sharp until next season, our off-season training sessions are designed to help players at individualized levels.

About the program

This new development program is overseen by Dave Eason, Vice President of Softball Operations and Corynn Myers, Director of Softball Player Development and Tournaments. Both Dave and Corynn coach during the regular season and enjoy working with young players on their skill-building.

Corynn played 12 years of softball including over 8 years of travel softball and 4 years of varsity. She’s also coached players ranging from 6 - 14-year-old over 5 years.

Dave played recreation baseball for most of his youth and has umped Little League games. He's been a part our league for over 10 years. He’s also coached baseball and softball players ranging from 5 - 13-year-old for the past 5 years with PCLL.

These sessions will focus on fielding (infield / outfield), hitting as well as speed and agility. There will also be opportunities to work with our players on pitching and catching.

Softball Basic Skills
This is intended for players that are newer to fast pitch softball and are looking to learn about the game during the offseason. Experience is not required, but players for this clinic would be in the Machine Pitch division (6-8U) or Minors division (8-10U) for the upcoming season and using a 11” softball.

Softball Intermediate Skills
This is intended for players that have some experience and are looking to continue with their love of the game during the offseason. Experience is not required, but players for this clinic would be in the Majors division (10-12U) or Juniors division (13/14U) for the upcoming season and using a 12” softball.

What to expect:

While each clinic will run differently depending on the focus skill, players can expect an initial meet & greet, skills evaluation, and dedicated stations in small groups. Our goal is to ensure each player has an opportunity for 1:1 instruction and feels comfortable and excited about participating in each station.

Each session will be 75 minutes long and we will be exclusively using The Lab located at 46615 Michigan Ave, Canton, MI 48188

These sessions will take place on Saturday evenings, 3 times a month, from September 2021 - February 2022 for $60 a month
*Space will be very limited to insure optimal player experience*
